When it comes to streamlining your cockpit, you could go for carbon bars and stems to get the weight down, but why not get the best of both worlds in one piece? The Syncrose Hixon IC SL Handlebars do just that, integrating the stem and bar into a single piece, crafted from unidirectional carbon, designed to drop grams left and right, while maintaining stiffness to the top degree. At first glance, the bars may look, well, different, and you wouldn't be wrong. Looking down at them from above you'll see that they've got more curves than most of us have after a season of holiday cooking, but despite their curvy appearance, they land at a remarkably similar grip position to a standard bar and stem combo (with matching stem length, back sweep, and up sweep). This means that they'll still offer you the same fit as your tried-and-true setup, but at a fraction of the weight. This version carries on with the same Hixon integrated cockpit handlebar that you've seen before, but stretches it out a bit to 780mm width, making them ideal for all-mountain riding. They are built from Syncros Engineered Carbon, with construction techniques that aim to keep the setup about 10% lighter than other bar and stem combos, without falling short with durability and stiff control. As the bars are entirely carbon, additional sanding is done to the grip and lever area of the bars to help reduce clamping forces required to keep your brakes and shifters locked into place without over-tightening and doing damage to your components. The bars feature 15-millimeters of rise, paired with a 9-degree back sweep and 6-degree up sweep, just enough to keep you centered in the cockpit for easy transitions fore-and-aft on the bike through punchy climbs and steep descents. The clamp is designed for a 1 and 1/8th-inch steer tube, and is available with either 40-or-50-millimeter virtual stem options for getting your fit right where you want it.
