The mat is three inches thick, so even if you've set up camp on a rock- and root-infested plot, the SI has enough depth to absorb all but the nastiest ground protrusions. The Comfort Plus comes standard with Sea to Summit's self-inflating valve, so you can get to camp, pop the valve, toss it on the ground, and then go fishing instead of huffing on a valve for the next hour.
