A lighter rendition of the ol' sack is Outdoor Research's 35L UltraLight Compression Sack. This sack reduces gear into a pack-friendly size, albeit clothes, sleeping bag, etc. thanks to the four compression straps. A small pocket in the end cap allows one to keep track of some of the smaller items.
