If your idea of enlightenment is cruising up skintracks and mobbing down long descents in perfect pow, Mammut's Nirvana Flip 18 Backpack is your gateway to elevated consciousness. That might sound a little wishy washy, but the Nirvana is anything but, seeing as it's made from 300D HD fabrics that can scrap against rocks, power through trees, and stand up to lots of travel without batting an eyelash. It's not huge--at 1100 cubic inches, it's perfect for short day tours or hops outside the resort--but Mammut still gave the Nirvana a full-zip back panel for easy access to all your gear, along with top access and a front compartment that can hold your shovel and probe. The Nirvana's compression straps are designed to carry a snowboard vertically or skis diagonally, and there's also a system that locks down ice axes and trekking poles for easy storage when they're not in your hands. You can probably figure out what the padded internal goggle pocket and hydration sleeve are for, too, so we won't waste words explaining them to you.
