IbisRipley4 XT M8100 Bike 2020Redesigned from the ground upIf you are familiar with the previous Ibis Ripley, I challenge you to find major similarities between it and the new Ripley V4. They both have carbon frames and 29" wheels, but that is basically where the similarities end. The new Ripley has been redesigned from the ground up and now showcases a silhouette very similar to its big brother, the Ibis Ripmo. We all know the Ibis Ripley v3 was a great bike, so why change it? The answer is simple, to make an even better bike! The Ripley V4 is snappy, flickable, playful, fast, lightweight, and versatile. It only takes a few seconds on the trail until you are completely in love with this bike.At the heart of the new Ripley is modern geometry, a stiff and lightweight full-carbon chassis, and 120mm of ultra-efficient DW-link travel. For those unaware, the DW-link is the creation of suspension wizard Dave Weagle. Since its inception, it has provided an unparalleled combination of climbing efficiency and downhill performance. Besides an amazing suspension platform, the Ripley frame also features a low stand-over height which allows for smaller riders on smaller frames to still run a decently long dropper.Other modern advancements include 29" forks with a 44mm offset that you will find on all Ripley models. A shorter offset allows you to reap the benefits of a slack head angle, without feeling like your front wheel is a bike-length ahead of you. If you seek more traction and control, the Ripley comes with 2.6" wide tires front and rear. Run lower tire pressures to achieve a smoother ride with better grip in the corners. If you wake up in the morning with the urge to rip a trail, it's time to throw your leg over a Ibis Ripley. From all day epic adventures to short rides during lunch and afterwork, the new Ripley V4 will take you anywhere you want to go a leave a huge smile on your face. Developed from years of research and experience, the new Ripley is expanding the notions of what can be done on a 120mm 29er.REVIEWSPinkbike - "The bullet points read like a 'how to make your trailbike rip' recipe: The head angle is slacker, the seat angle is way steeper, and the reach is way reach-ier, too. There's still 120mm of travel out back, but those funky eccentrics have been replaced with compact links, and the lower one is actually lifted straight off the Ripmo. " - Mike LevyVital MTB - "If you love the Ripmo but want something lighter, faster and more nimble than an Enduro World Series capable mountain bike, the Ripley is it. With its combination of modern geometry, progressive suspension, light weight, and 2.6" tire clearance, the Ripley is our ultimate trail bike."What's new for the Ripley V4Shared stiffness and lower link with Ibis RipmoOne-degree slacker head angle, now 66.5 degrees0.65 lbs lighter than the previous RipleyThree-degree steeper seatube, now 76 degrees12mm shorther chainstays, now 432mmReach increased an average of 45mm across all frame sizesMore progressive suspension kinematicsRemovable ISCG-05 mounts allow you to attach a chainguide/bashguardInternal cable tunnels make internal routing easier than ever beforeKey FeaturesFull Carbon Fiber frame is light, durable, and strongFox suspension front and rear provides a smooth ride no matter how gnarly it getsShimano XT 12-speed drivetrain gives you all the gears you need to make it up the steepest ascentsPowerful Shimano XT disc brakes provide consistent braking power in all conditionsBike Yoke Revive dropper seatpost allows a seamless transition between climbing and descendingIbis Alloy 29" wheels showcase incredible speed and roll-over characteristics7-year frame warranty provides by Ibis CyclesLifetime replacement on bushings provided by Ibis CyclesSPECIFICATIONSFrameIbis Ripley V4, Full Carbon Fiber, DW-Link, 120mm of travelForkFox Float 34 Performance 130mmRear ShockFox Float Performance DPS with Evol, 190x45HeadsetCane Creek 40 ZS44/ZS56ShiftersShimano XT M8100 12-SpeedRear DerailleurShimano XT M8100 12-SpeedCranksetShimano XT M8100 32TBottom BracketShimanoChainShimano XT M8100 12-SpeedCassetteShimano XT 10-51TBrakesShimano XT M8100 2-PistonRotor Size180mm Front, 180mm RearWheelsetIbis S35 Aluminum rims, Ibis HubsTiresSchwable Nobby Nic, 29 x 2.6"HandlebarIbis Carbon 800mmStemThomson Elite X4 StemGripsLizard Skin Charger EvoSeatpostBike Yoke Revive (125, 160 or 185mm)SeatclampIbisSaddleWTB Silverado Pro 142mmIntended UseTrail, All-MountainNote: Components are subject to change without notice.Geometry and Size Guide// METRICINCHIbis Ripley V4SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeA: Seat Tube Length14.5"15"16.5"19"B: Effective Top Tube574603630658C: Stack599613622631D: Reach425450475500G: Head Tube Length90105115125H: Head Tube Angle66.5 deg66.5 deg66.5 deg66.5 degI: Seat Tube Angle76 deg76 deg76 deg76 degJ: Standover Height27.9"28.1"29.3"29.8"K: Chainstay Length432432432432L: Wheelbase1147117812071236Suggested Rider HeightFrame SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeRider Height5'0-5'5 152-165 cm5'4-5'9 163-175 cm5'9-6'2 175-188 cm6'0-6'6 183-198 cmIbis Ripley V4SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeA: Seat Tube Length14.51516.519B: Effective Top Tube22.623.724.825.9C: Stack23.624.124.524.8D: Reach16.717.718.719.7G: Head Tube Length3.54.14.54.9H: Head Tube Angle66.5 deg66.5 deg66.5 deg66.5 degI: Seat Tube Angle76.0 deg76.0 deg76.0 deg76.0 degJ: Standover Height27.928.129.329.8K: Chainstay Length17.017.017.017.0L: Wheelbase45.246.447.548.7Suggested Rider HeightFrame SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeRider Height5'0-5'5 152-165 cm5'4-5'9 163-175 cm5'9-6'2 175-188 cm6'0-6'6 183-198 cm
