It's hard to beat that giddy feeling of setting up your ride with Shimano's new Dura-Ace Di2 drivetrain, but there's always been the issue for those of us riding TT or triathlons. There's no question that we don't like opening up our dialed-in aero positioning to brake or shift on the outer bar, and fortunately the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-R9160 11-Speed TT Brake/Shift Levers cut off that issue all together, allowing you to stay tucked in with your shifters neatly mounted into the ends of your TT bar. These shifters are set up for Synchro-Shift, and fully programmable with multi-shift option allowing you to dial in the perfect gear ratios for pushing to the front for your breakaway. The ST-R9160 Brake and Shift levers take some inspiration from their predecessor, the ST-9071, but upgrades things with less weight, and a more compact and comfortable feel. Additionally, the shifters are changed from the two-button style of yesteryear to a single-button shift design. With the evolution of Syncro Shift, the brain of the Di2 system decides the optimal front and rear gear combination whenever you shift with your rear derailleur, which dramatically reduces the amount of time you need to spend interacting with your shifter all together, so you can stay tucked into your most aerodynamic position, stay stable, and keep your focus on the road ahead of you. This single button design is pretty easy to use in actual application, and since it's programmable you can decide your shifter functions based on personal preference completely. It pairs with Shimano's E-Tube wires that install right into the lever, and are compatible with nearly any aero bar capable of internal routing to keep things clean and rattle-free.
