Speed comes easy with the Santa Cruz Highball Carbon C R Mountain Bike getting pushed to the limit underneath us. The aggressive cross-country bike sees modern geo in a classic platform to get to the top of any climb faster than the competition. This race bike is equipped with 100mm of suspension to support the front end and max tire clearance of 2. 4in in the rear to take out some trail roughness. This bike is built for performance and does everything it can to deliver us to the top of the podium on race weekend. Geometry on modern hardtail mountain bikes isn't like it was back in the day, when bikes were nothing much more than road bikes with bigger tubes and smaller wheels. Though 73-degree headtube angles are out the window, the snappiness and response haven't gone anywhere. The Highball is built out of lightweight high-quality carbon and specced with a 69. 5-degree head-tube angle to support the fastest laps we can crank out. With an 1140mm wheelbase the Highball isn't too far off of its full-suspension cousin, meaning we get the stability we need to fly down trail when things get deep into the speedy spectrum. Kit on the Highball is started off with SRAM's high-range NX Eagle groupset. The 34t chainring is paired with a 11-50t cassette in the rear helping us cruise through the fast straight sections and up the steepest climbs on course. Eagle components are cross-compatible with each other, helping make getting replacement parts a breeze. The Highball is delivered with a SID fork, bringing its low weight and high-quality suspension optimization to the game with an included remote lockout. We'll be flying through cross-country races and eating up gravel road day after day while aboard the Highball.
