Unless you're planning on spending the night at 20000 feet in the Himalayas or Andes the Rab Expedition 1000 -22F Degree Down Sleeping Bag is warm enough to keep you from waking up dead. While not quite as warm as the top-of-the-world-worthy Expedition 1200 or1400 the 1000 is nearly a pound lighter than the latter and uses the same hyperlight 850-fill hydrophobic European goose down for unsurpassed warmth and weight savings. Rab sandwiched all this killer insulation between layers of water-resistant Pertex Endurance and Microlight fabrics to keep you toasty and dry even when the storm is blowing through the tiniest gaps in your tent and condensation is freezing to the walls.Like its even warmer brothers Expedition 1000 uses a longitudinal baffle design with Flowgate technology in the torso to keep the down from shifting and leaving cold spots as well as an angled footbox for comfort and consistent insulation. You're only as warm as the air that your bag can trap so Rab designed the Expedition with close-fitting neck and face baffles along with a collar and drawcord hood to prevent heat from leaking out. It also cut the bag with a roomy design to be compatible with down clothing when you need to sleep with some extra insulation. Just in case that isn't enough for you Rab also added an internal pocket for storage and a drybag compression sack so you can carry your bag easily and safely when you're blindly following fixed ropes during a whiteout climb to advanced base camp.
