For that reason alone, you can expect this lid to be very popular atop the heads of the fastest sprinters, seeing as it offers around a 10-watt savings at 50km/h. But perhaps what's most important with the design of the Manta, was MET didn't sacrifice its ability to cool or neglect a lightweight build. MET constructs the Manta with an NACA crown duct at the top along with optimally positioned vents throughout ensuring the Manta facilitates airflow, keeping you cool on the warmest summer rides. This means that besides reducing drag, the low-profile Manta is great as an everyday helmet as it prevents you from overheating. MET claims the Manta weighs in at 200g, an impressive number for any helmet, especially so given its aero tendencies. Perhaps one of the most scrutinized detail in a helmet is fit and thanks to MET's Safe-T Advanced Fit System, it accommodates a wide range of head shapes. Its rear micro adjust dial offers very precise movements of 2mm per click on the horizontal adjustment and the 4 steps of vertical adjustment help you find the perfect fit. The contact points have large cradle surfaces and comfy polyurethane padding, helping to reduce pressure points while keeping weight low and allowing the back of the head to breathe. Another detail we've really come to appreciate is its included DualGel front padding. We found that since it's a gel pad that doesn't absorb perspiration, it keeps our head cooler, keeps perspiration from running into our eyes, and it offers a much longer life span than the traditional foam padding. Additionally, it better conforms to the shape of your head and is hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Lastly, the Manta is compatible with MET's USB LED light (sold separately) and includes a rear reflective sticker for safety.
