Easton delivered on all fronts with its new EC70 Zero Offset Seatpost. It's a lightweight and compliant carbon post that's been designed for riders seeking the versatility provided through a neutral two-bolt post design. The seatpost was constructed with the same overall monocoque carbon construction technique as the EC90, except for an aluminum upper clamp. Besides that, you receive the same innovative design and proprietary technology that's kept Easton's carbon seatposts bolted to the frames of the world's most demanding cyclists. Easton built the EC70 carbon post with both its Relief-Area Design (RAD) and TaperWall technology. TaperWall is a manufacturing technique that applies more carbon to the wall surfaces where stiffness is paramount, with less material being applied to areas requiring more compliance. For the EC70, this means you get a thinner aft portion of the post for a more compliant, comfortable ride feel, with thicker sides for enhanced rigidity and resistance to torsional flex. The RAD technology works directly with the TaperWall, essentially flattening the rear section of the post. In addition to this eliminating unnecessary weight, RAD prevents gouging or scoring that often occurs on round posts from the binder bolt/clamp assembly. At the top of the post, Easton placed its proven two-bolt aluminum clamping system. This low-profile assembly securely encloses your saddle's rails, which also makes fine-tune adjustments a simplified affair. The Easton EC70 Zero Offset Seatpost is available with a Matte Carbon finish, either a 300 or 400mm length, and 27. 2, 30. 9, and 31. 6mm diameters.
